“Angels in Iran” is a play by Mohammad Yaghoubi. It is made up of 9 short plays. It was the final project of “32 Words for Acting” workshop instructed by Mohammad Yaghoubi. The workshop was formed in November 2017 and after six months of team work and rehearsals, “Angels in Iran” were on stage for Farsi speaking audiences with English surtitles in Toronto on June 15th and 16th at George Ignatieff Theatre.
The cast was as follows (in alphabetical order):

This was the second time “Nowadays Theatre” company staged a performance with acting students. Persian art lovers living in Toronto have seen “Dance of Torn Papers” in 2016 as the final project with students who attended Aida Keykhaii’s acting workshop.
I saw the play last Friday night and I was mesmerized by the very unique script, creative directorial work, and dedication of the actors. It was indeed a great pleasure to watch something that was not dull and repetitious while conveying an important message. Thanks to Mohammad Yaghoubi for being such, ingenious visionary artist.
